Geometallurgy of the Zinkgruvan Zn-Pb-Ag and Cu deposit

The project will investigate the deportment of base, critical, precious and deleterious in the various mineralization types found at the Zinkgruvan deposit in Bergslagen, Sweden, and how contrasting ore characteristics impact on ore recoveries.

The project includes the development of a new characterization workflows, involving innovative metallurgical testing and theoretical modelling for developing flexible and multi-stage approaches for use in a real-time geometallurgical program. The project is funded by Boliden Zinkgruvan, the Center of Advanced Mining and Metallurgy (CAMM) and strategic research iniative CAMM-CRM at LTU, and is conducted during 2025-2029.
