New Name for the Research Subject

Physiotherapy changes name to Physiotherapy and Health Promotion

During the late winter of 2025, Luleå University of Technology changed the name of the research subject Physiotherapy to Physiotherapy and Health Promotion to also include the aspect of health promotion. Physiotherapy and Health Promotion focuses on human movement and its impact on health and quality of life. The subject aims to identify and strengthen factors that contribute to an
active and healthy life. It includes health promotion and prevention at individual, group, and
societal levels, as well as the treatment of conditions that limit function, activity, and participation.
