In the media: How toxic is the runoff from various building materials?
Runoff from copper sheets has a strong harmful effect on several aquatic organisms. That is one of the conclusions of a new study from Luleå University of Technology, where researchers have evaluated how runoff from various building materials affects life in waterways and lakes.
The report has been noted in the water and wastewater magazine VA-guiden and presents results of ecotoxicological tests of runoff from seven exterior building materials. To analyze the toxicity, runoff was collected at an existing experimental setup on campus at Luleå University of Technology on three different occasions of rain.
