New DRIZZLE industrial PhD candidate and new PhD candidate in sewer systems
During the summer, Talat Satilmisoglu was employed as an industrial PhD candidate within DRIZZLE - center for stormwater management, in collaboration with Uponor / GF Piping Systems, and Suneeta Kakati as a PhD candidate in water and wastewater engineering with a focus on pipe networks.
Talat Satilmisoglu
Talat's research area is in stormwater treatment, focusing on conducting extensive field sampling of stormwater treatment facilities and developing innovative, compact stormwater treatment technologies.
Talat completed his MSc in Water Engineering at the Centre for Water Systems at the University of Exeter, UK, where his thesis investigated the impact of sustainable drainage systems on groundwater quality and water management strategies in developing regions.
Suneeta Kakati
Suneeta's main research interest is on the condition assessment of gravity pipes using acoustic measurements. For this purpose, she will analyze sound reflections recorded by sensors inside the pipe network and develop an algorithm for continuous monitoring of the pipe system.
Suneeta has an M.Sc. in Water Resources Engineering from Lund University, Sweden. Her master's thesis was focused on the removal of Per- and Poly-fluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) from drinking water using nanofiltration (NF) and reverse osmosis (RO) membranes.
