New project - UNDERWATER
Together with Växjö Municipality and eleven additional partners, we have been granted a transition lab within the Water Wise Societies Impact Innovation call. UNDERWATER – sediment from risk to resource in urban stormwater flows aims to promote the transition to circular and environmentally safe management of stormwater sediments.
By uniting technical innovation, policy development, and practitioner collaboration, the lab seeks to transform the perception and handling of urban sediments – from waste to resource.
Its work is organised around three development journeys: Smart maintenance and sampling in stormwater systems, Framework for maintenance and sediment management, and Safe recovery and reuse of stormwater sediments.
The transition lab brings together 13 partners, including Växjö Municipality, Luleå University of Technology (Urban Water Engineering and Law), Tecomatic AB, Tekniska verken i Linköping, Linköping Municipality, Örebro Municipality, Stockholm Vatten och Avfall, MittSverige Vatten & Avfall, Lumire, the Traffic Department and the Environment and Health Department of the City of Stockholm, and Miljö och Vatten in Örnsköldsvik.
