New PhD Candidate for Climate Change Effects and Adaptation in Urban Streams
Srija Dangudubiyyam has joined the Urban Water Engineering research group at Luleå University of Technology as a PhD candidate in August 2026.
She holds a joint master’s degree in Flood Risk Management from the Technical University Dresden, IHE Delft, UPC Barcelona, and the University of Ljubljana. Her Master’s thesis at the Deltares research institute in the Netherlands focused on understanding flash floods in dry streams (wadis) in Jeddah.
At Luleå University of Technology, Srija will be engaged in a new project on stormwater measurement and modelling in the context of climate change. Her research at LTU focuses on field measurements in urban streams in Umeå, Sweden. By applying hydrological models, she aims to provide insights into the interaction between urban streams and adaptation measures under current and future climate scenarios.
