Toxicity testing of runoff from different building surface materials, 2023

In this project we study to what extent runoff from a selection of building surface materials may affect aquatic organisms.

At an existing experimental setup with pilot scale panels of different building surface materials, at the campus of Luleå University of Technology, runoff is collected from the different materials and analysed with respect to the toxicity for aquatic organisms. The aim is to investigate the actual effects on aquatic organisms.

The project is funded by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and has a budget of 780 000 SEK.

The results are presented in a report.
