Cellulose-Reinforced Composites Toward Next-Generation Sustainable Biocomposites
The project aims to develop high-performance biocomposites made entirely from renewable raw materials, with mechanical properties comparable to traditional glass fibre composites. This is done by combining lightweight synthetic cellulose filaments with bio-based polymer resins in a process that produces well-oriented unidirectional composites.
The project is carried out as a collaboration between us, Spinnova Oyj and University of Vienna (Prof. Alexander Bismarck).
