About
Angus Jansen’s research focuses on urban stormwater and sediment management. Through detailed characterisation of sediments from various types of stormwater facilities and the development of technical solutions, his work aims to enable circular sediment management, reduce the spread of pollutants to receiving waters, and optimise stormwater system maintenance.
He holds an MSc in Water Science and Management from Utrecht University. His master's thesis, conducted at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW), evaluated bioassays as indicators of water quality at urban overflow points, assessing the ecological implications of urban stormwater discharges.
At Luleå University of Technology, Angus will be engaged in the project Underwater – Sediments from Risk to Resource in Urban Stormwater Flows, in collaboration with a network of national actors in the water and wastewater industry.
