Project: BEYOND Existing Superalloys for High Temperature Performance – ATI 273
Project description: BEYOND intends to evaluate a new wrought Ni-base gamma prime (γ') strengthened superalloy, ATI 273, which exhibits high manufacturability with excellent properties that surpass existing superalloys. The project is expected to achieve significant advancements in development of high-performance superalloys. The alloy shows good potential for use in high temperature jet engine components. It can significantly improve engine efficiency and contribute to increased durability. To fully understand its capabilities, extensive exploration is necessary.
BEYOND will systematically study the thermodynamic properties, microstructure, mechanical properties, and weldability of this new alloy. This will ensure that superalloy can be integrated into aerospace component manufacturing workflows and maintain structural integrity and performance throughout its lifetime.
