About
Letty's main research interest is in source-separating wastewater systems with three pipes (triplicate systems). Letty’s research focuses on the evaluation of these systems first in new buildings and later in the transition of existing buildings.
Resource recovery from wastewater is easier in systems that are not diluted with greywater. Therefore, source-separating wastewater systems arise as a sustainable alternative. Due to the limited guidance available for building and operating these systems, analyzing which pathways and economic instruments would be needed to facilitate this transition is necessary.
Letty completed her master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Infrastructure at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. For her master thesis, she developed a decision method for maintenance activities in water pipelines based on the use of non-destructive inspection technologies. This thesis was carried out in collaboration with Stockholm Vatten och Avfall.
