About me
My typical personal traits are that I’m a calm and collected person with a high motivation to learn new things about myself and my surroundings, both privately and in my research. Outside of work, I’m a very active person who is quite outdoorsy. My main hobbies are beachvolleyball, going out to sea with my boat and fishing.
After working as a fire protection engineer for 5 years in the Swedish construction sector I joined Luleå University of Technology (LTU) for PhD-studies in the fall of 2023. My previous work involved various R&D projects and performance-based design using calculationtools based on CFD and FEM. Apart from my research studies on hydrogen safety, I’m highly involved in teaching and developing the Fire Protection Engineering Programme at LTU. A strength in my teaching is that I’m knowledgeable about the construction industry in Sweden having worked as a fire protection engineer before starting my PhD-studies.
Research interests
Sustainable technologies are being developed at a very high pace to resist global climate changes. The safety aspect is commonly underprioritized in the rapid development of technology. In my research, I'm interested in enlightening the true consequences of accidents involving hydrogen gas explosions, so that a research-based understanding of the consequences of these events are clarified. Another great interest for me is simulations which is a key factor to predict consequences accurately.
My objectives are to
- Develop methods/models to estimate the consequences of hydrogen gas explosions
- Investigate intricate coupling of CFD and FEM models for shockwave-structure response
- Provide insight into key factors for risk mitigation regarding dynamic loading from hydrogen gas explosions
Professional expertise
- Numerical simulations (CFD/FEM)
- Performance based design
- Structural fire protection
- Fire protection engineering
