I am a PhD student in the department of Operation and Maintenance Engineering, where I explore how Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) can be used to transform optical fiber cables into thousands of virtual sensors for railway infrastructure monitoring. By combining signal processing and data analysis, I investigate how train-track interactions are captured by DAS measurements and how this information can be used to better understand the condition of railway assets.
Originally from Spain, I hold bachelor's and master's degrees in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). During my studies, I conducted research at the MCIA Research Center and completed my master's thesis at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) on condition-based monitoring of rotating equipment. Before joining LTU, I worked at Northvolt and Scania, where I gained experience in quality and manufacturing.
