Marco Manetti

About me

Marco’s main research interest is the hydrological and hydraulic modelling of urban stormwater systems, with a focus on how to improve existing modelling approaches to include a broader use of nature-based solutions in the urban areas. He will study which combinations of modelling activities and field monitoring campaigns lead to the best results in terms of model prediction, with one of the main goals to investigate and quantify the contribution of soil moisture measurements to the modelling process.

Before starting his Phd, Marco obtained an M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering, discussing a thesis with a topic in hydraulic modelling of non-Newtonian fluids transporting solids in pipes. He also gained expertise in several fields of water engineering from his previous work experiences, working for a water municipality company and a water research institute in Italy
