Mentorship programme
Luleå University of Technology offers a mentorship programme to international master students on site in Luleå. As an international master student, you can apply for attending the programme and to work together in the programme with a mentor chosen to fit your profile. With the mentor you can have discussions about the future and learn from work life as a preparation for your future career. The mentor can also act as a door opener, offering contacts, networking and maybe also opportunities for thesis or essay work.
Purpose of the programme
The purpose of the Mentorship Programme is to provide you with professional and up-to-date advice from the career field you are interested in. Based on your application you will be matched with a mentor answering as much as possible to what you pointed out as important in your application.
Programme outline
The programme starts in September 2025 with a kick-off meeting and runs until December 2025. Applications must be submitted before April 30, 2025, to be considered. If accepted, you will meet your mentor at the kick-off meeting in September.
The programme starts with a kick-off meeting where all mentors and mentees join and meet each other for the first time. At the kick-off meeting, the whole programme will be outlined and explained. The programme is designed to assist your process focusing on professional and personal development.
During the programme there will be three joint meetings with the whole group and different experts will guide you focusing on different themes on each meeting. Between the joint meetings, you and your mentor will follow the programme and have individual meetings four times during the period.
In December, at the final meeting, the programme will close with a diploma ceremony for all participants.

What you can expect
To develop professionally and personally through the mentorship programme, you need to be active and engaged. The progress of your dialogues with the mentor will be based on your questions and interest areas. Hence, you will need to think about in which areas you would like to receive support and development and to clarify why you attend the mentorship programme. This will enable your mentor to act as a sounding board to you based on their professional experiences. This means that you initiate meetings with your mentor bringing your career and work life questions to your meetings.
Try to think long-term and give the mentoring relationship time to develop. The time you spend on the programme is an investment in yourself and your future. To be able to look back on a successful programme period, you need to be well prepared and set aside the necessary time for your scheduled meetings. At the joint meetings you will have an opportunity to meet other mentees and mentors who also can contribute with their experience as well as extend your network.
The mentoring programme runs for one semester, from September to December.
