Information introductory period

Welcome to the School of Music in Piteå! We’re so glad you want to study here in the
north of Sweden.

We are hosting our annual introductory period called “NolleP” during the week before the official
start of the studies!

“But what is NolleP!?” you’re probably thinking with terror and discouragement, seeing weeks of
penalism and humiliation before your eyes. However, that’s not the case! The introductory period at
Campus Piteå via the Luleå University of Technology lasts one week (26th of August - 1st of
September) and consists of entertainment, experiences, and assignments, all of which aim to give you
the best possible introduction to your upcoming life as a student at LTU.

On the 24th of August, we’ll meet at 09:00 at the School of Music. At the start of the day, you’ll get
the chance to meet your future classmates and programme supervisor, and the opportunity to set up
the practical basics for the start of your studies. Then, we will give you a tour of the campus where
you’ll get to know both your classmates and your place of study. During the rest of the days you’ll get
to experience a lot of different activities, competitions, music, and dance! For you to be able to
participate, we recommend that you bring clothes that are suitable based on the weather, since many
activities will take place outdoors. A more detailed schedule for the week will be available closer to
the start of the studies.

In Piteå, we have our very own, unique and traditional role-playing game, which is part of the
introductory period. This will be ongoing throughout the whole introductory week.

We hope that you’ll join us and once again wish you a warm welcome! If for some reason you are
unable to participate throughout the whole week, you’re obviously welcome to join in at any moment.
However, we wholeheartedly recommend you to be part of the fun from the very first day!
