Centrum restaurant taking shape, opening planned for spring
Work to refresh the Centrum restaurant and create new study areas is progressing, although the project has faced some delays. The casting and polishing of the new concrete floor are now complete, and several key stages have been finalised during the autumn.
The complex roof structure and detailed design of the elevated space place high demands on the workmanship. The same applies to the extensive new lighting program, which involves both cleaning up older installations and programming modern technology.
The delivery of the glulam timber structure for the raised area is scheduled for January. Assembly and final work can then be completed during the spring. The entire project is expected to be ready for inauguration in April 2026.
At the moment, maintenance and service of the freezer room and cooling units is also underway, which is being carried out by Akademiska Hus. Unfortunately, this has caused some delay in the opening of the kitchen. However, it is hoped that the restaurant part will be able to open partially soon, with a limited number of seats. More information will be available soon.
Soon we can all look forward to new, bright and welcoming environments for both study and meetings. Thank you for your patience!
