Health education - Ethical review of thesis work
From January 1, 2004, we have a law on ethical review of research involving humans (2003:460). On 1 July 2008, an amendment to the Act entered into force (SFS 2008:192). A further amendment to the Act entered into force in 2018 (2018:1999). The Act specifies the type of research covered by the Act and which must be ethically reviewed by the ethics review authority.
The Act covers research that aims to affect the research subject physically or psychologically or that risks affecting the research subject physically or psychologically. The law also covers research where the research subject cannot be asked to participate or where research subjects are identified in or data is retrieved from registers or data/biobanks.
All research at the institution that falls under the law must be reviewed by the Ethical Review Authority and this also applies to students' degree projects. The Ethics Review Authority will review research. The new wording of the Act contains a description of what is meant by research and, in the normal case, student work should not be regarded as research and thus not included in the ethical review prescribed by the Act.

Implementation
When and how you write a PM/project description and get your supervisor depends on which degree project you will write. All degree projects have a Canvas room where you should find a study guide.
Examination - when do I get my grade?
Once the supervisor/examiner has approved the final version of the report, you should register your work in the publication database, Register degree project. After the work has been registered, it takes a few days before the degree project course is finally reported in Ladok and becomes visible via Mitt-LTU.
When you have completed all courses, it is time to apply for a degree.
