LTU CH2ESS Research Days 2026
26–27 August 2026
Vetenskapens Hus, Luleå
Hydrogen technologies are developing rapidly and demand stronger collaboration between academia, industry and public institutions. CH2ESS Research Days brings these actors together in Luleå to share the latest research, discuss key challenges and explore new opportunities across the hydrogen value chain.
Over two half days, the event provides insights into current developments in hydrogen technologies, energy systems and market perspectives, while offering a strong platform for exchange and networking. Through a programme that combines research presentations, poster pitches, panel discussions and industry perspectives, participants can both deepen their knowledge and build connections that support future collaboration.
About the Event
LTU CH2ESS Research Days brings together researchers, industry representatives and public stakeholders working with hydrogen and the energy transition.
The programme focuses on research and development across the entire hydrogen value chain, including:
- hydrogen production
- distribution and storage
- safety and permit processes
- materials and infrastructure
- market development and research needs
The event includes research presentations, poster pitches, panel discussions and company perspectives. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss ongoing projects and future research directions.
An optional afternoon session will provide a deeper technical dive into several research topics within hydrogen.
Keynote Speaker
Prof. Dr. Bruno G. Pollet
This year’s keynote speaker is Prof. Bruno G. Pollet, international scientific advisor to CH2ESS and Professor of Chemistry at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in Canada.
He has extensive experience in hydrogen energy, with work spanning both academia and industry in several countries. His research focuses on clean hydrogen and the development of sustainable energy systems.
Moderator
Cecilia Wallmark
The event will be moderated by Cecilia Wallmark, Director of CH2ESS.
She has more than 25 years of experience working with hydrogen technologies and energy systems.
