WISE – Acknowledgement

Instruktioner för publicering med finansiering från WISE. Det är viktigt att alla som publicerar inom ramen för WISE följer instruktionerna nedan. Syftet är att göra forskningen tillgänglig, att uttrycka uppskattning till vår finansiär (Knut och Alice Wallenbergs Stiftelse, KAW) samt att möjliggöra uppföljning, eftersom vetenskapliga publikationer är en av våra viktigaste leverabler.

Instructions for publication with WISE funding

It is important that everyone who publishes within the framework of WISE follows the instructions below. The purpose is to make the research available, to express gratitude to our financier (KAW), and to enable tracking as publications are one of our most important deliverables.

Affiliation

In the author list, in addition to the university affiliation, the Wallenberg Initiative Material Science for Sustainability (WISE) must also be included (“affiliation for publication”)

Acknowledgements

All publications made within the WISE program should include an acknowledgement to the financer (in the “Acknowledgements” section when such exists). The standard phrase is as follows:

This work was [partially] supported by the Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability (WISE) funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.

If you are additionally acknowledging the use of WISE-financed research infrastructure (e.g., RTP or TomoWISE beamline)

ORCID

When publishing within the framework of WISE, the author should be connected to ORCID and link ORCID to the publication.

Open access

An open-access mandate policy has been adopted by the KAW foundation. WISE requires that all grant recipients make their published, peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers open access by publishing them in an open-access journal (“Gold OA”) and/or by self-archiving their final, peer-reviewed drafts in a freely accessible institutional repository and/or disciplinary repository (“Green OA”).

Please contact your library to make sure that the repository fulfills the journal’s requirement regarding open access (read more here https://v2.sherpa.ac.uk/romeo/about.html). It is allowed to use WISE funds allocated for operational costs (travel and material costs) to support fees associated with OA publishing.

All publications should also be published in the publication system of your university.

For example: DiVA, RESEARCH.chalmers.se or LUP/LUCRIS. This routine is officially stipulated in the WASP Decision letter that is sent to supervisors of newly admitted PhD students and to recruited faculty.

Instructions for acknowledging WISE-financed research infrastructure

Acknowledgments

If you have used WISE-financed research infrastructure, such as a Research and Technology Platform (RTP) or the TomoWISE beamline at MAX IV, it is mandatory to acknowledge this in the Acknowledgements section of the resulting research article(s).

Use the following format:

The [specify the type] investigations were carried out using the [full name of WISE infrastructure], which was funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation via the Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability (WISE).

Where “specify the type” should be descriptive of the investigations in the given manuscript, and “full name of WISE infrastructure” should be one of the following:

Multiple WISE funding in Acknowledgements

If you have multiple sources of WISE funding to acknowledge, please combine/simplify them in some form. For example:

This work was [partially] supported by the Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability (WISE) funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (KAW). The [specify the type] investigations were carried out using the [full name of WISE infrastructure], which was also funded by KAW through WISE.

Affiliation

In case you also have direct WISE funding, you also need to follow the rules regarding affiliation, acknowledgements, etc., see “Instructions for acknowledging WISE" above.
