Forecasting Electromagnetic Signal Propagation ANomalies - FESPAN
The overall goal of the FESPAN project is to improve the future situational awareness capabilities of the European defence at tactical and operational levels by contributing to the development of tactical decision-making aid (TDA). FESPAN project develops and validates electromagnetic signal propagation (EMSP), radiation, and scattering models and methods for forecasting and identifying threats in various environments and for various use-cases. Additionally, FESPAN specifies future development requirements of TDA tools and observation networks especially for European needs.
The LTU contribution lies in uncertainty quantification in the propagation prediction since the propagation environment is highly complex leading to high number of possible error sources.
