SMART-6GSAT Workshop in Kiruna
September 24–25, 2026
Join researchers, industry representatives and public sector stakeholders in Kiruna for two days of discussions on the future of integrated terrestrial and non-terrestrial 6G communication networks.
The workshop brings together expertise from academia and industry to explore emerging technologies, ongoing research and future collaboration within 6G and satellite communications.
The programme includes keynote presentations, technical sessions, networking opportunities and a tour of the Kiruna space campus, including IRF, EISCAT and LTU facilities. Discussions will cover practical applications, future directions for integrated 6G and satellite communications, impacts on mobile network operations, and spectrum sharing between GEO, LEO and terrestrial 6G systems.
The workshop is organized by the SSF Smart 6G SATCOM Research Center and serves as a meeting place for academic, industrial and societal stakeholders to exchange knowledge, discuss ongoing research and strengthen collaboration within the center and its wider network.
An important part of the workshop is the interaction between researchers and partners from industry and society, enabling early access to scientific results while also providing valuable feedback that can help shape future research directions within the center.
