Global goals for sustainable development

At the UN summit on 25 September 2015, the world heads of state and government adopted a new development agenda and global goals for sustainable development. Agenda 2030 consists of 17 global goals for sustainable development that aim to eradicate poverty, stop climate change and create peaceful and secure societies.

Luleå University of Technology's sustainability work is based on the our vision to shape the future through innovative educations and groundbreaking research results and to create global societal benefits based on the Arctic region.

The University's sustainability policy and goals for sustainable development are based on Agenda 2030 and the global goals for sustainable development. In order to be able to measure and follow up how well we meet the set goals, work is underway to link educational programs and research to the global goals.
