To save the Earth's resources and counteract global warming, we need to become better at taking advantage of the resources available in our wastewater.

To do this, we can, among other things, work with recycling using “source-separating” wastewater systems. Inga Herrmann, researcher in Urban Water Engineering at Luleå University of Technology, talks about how we can work with small sanitation systems rather than large ones, and thus facilitate resource recovery. The most important thing is to recycle the resources that are in the wastewater and to make efficient use of them – to create small circular sanitation systems.
