Novel porous materials can decarbonise CO2 intensive industries

Production of carbon-neutral recyclable products combined with carbon capture and utilisation is an important route to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Farid Akhtar, new Professor of Engineering Materials at Luleå University of Technology, talks about the role of materials technologies for decarbonisation of CO2 intensive industries. Within Engineering materials, and Farid’s own research, one of the key research areas is to design and develop novel porous materials for energy and environmental applications.
