The model was created in the project Gender-aware and sustainable recruitment at LTU during 2012-2013 in collaboration between gender researchers and recruitment actors at the university.
The waypoints visualize the recruitment process in a flow of phases from planning to hire and highlights questions for the recruitment group to reflect on in the different phases to ensure a gender-aware process. At each waypoint, the recruitment group is encouraged to stop and reflect about gender before making important decisions.
The waypoint model can be applied in all recruitments within the university. In most recruitments the recruiting manager is responsible to ensure that the model is applied. The exception is recruitment of professor and head of subject, where the HR specialist of the recruitment group ensures that the model is applied.
