Sweden's most even university

Luleå University of Technology has an equal gender balance among its students, where 53 percent of our students are men and 47 percent are women. We are convinced that education, student life and research becomes more fun and better when different people meet. We are proud, but not happy. Therefore, we are working hard to broaden the recruitment to our various education programs and to make our education and research environment more equal.

47 percent of our students are girls and 53 percent are boys. We are therefore one of the universities in Sweden with the best gender balance. We are working to broaden recruitment to improve gender balance within education programs. The University adopted last year an action plan for gender mainstreaming.
