New chairman of the national doctoral committee

Ulrika Lundström, PhD student at Luleå University of Technology, has been elected as a chairman of the Swedish National Student Union SFS doctoral committee.

– This feels both exciting and challenging, because I am passionate about graduate student issues.

Protects doctoral questions

SFS is the collective student voice from about a quarter of a million students. It is a student organization comprising student unions at Swedish all universities, which handle common issues concerning students, both nationally and internationally.

Within the SFS there is a special graduate student committee who organizes national PhD student educations and handle issues for graduate students.

The first of July will  Ulrika Lundström, a doctoral student in occupational therapy at Luleå University, assume as chairman of the doctoral committee board. A mission that extends over one year.

Switches arena

Ulrika Lundström has worked as the chairman of the doctoral student section at Luleå University of Technology.

It was the president of the university´s Student union who encouraged Ulrika Lundström to send in her CV. She was one of several applicants who were interviewed by the Nomination Committee. Recently, she was informed that she got the job.

– I trade arena, but will be working with the same issues. Luleå University of Technology are at the forefront of working with these issues, so I can contribute with many good examples.

Ulrica Lundström defended her thesis on the 12th of June in the subject occupational therapy with the thesis People who grow old with traumatic spinal cord injury and their everyday lives.
