Steel Construction Institutet Prize 2015

SSAB's research director Eva Petursson win the Swedish Institute of Steel Construction´s yearly prize for development of high strength steel. Eva Petursson is a doctor in Steel Structures and has previously worked as a researcher at Luleå University of Technology.

–  It's very flattering and also a bit unexpected because I have a different background, says Eva Petursson.

The Swedish Institute of Steel Construction´s price, is the steel construction industry's national award for particularly outstanding efforts of steel construction and is awarded each year in connection with the Steel Construction Day. It also awarded a scholarship out for the best thesis in steel construction, in collaboration with Lecor and Ramboll.

The research subject Steel structures at Luleå University of Technology is concerned with the innovative design of steel and composite structures as well as their structural engineering, and contributes to the continual improvement of standards and regulations.

Steel Structures has about 40 employees, including seven professors. Steel Structures includes six senior researchers and 6-8 doctoral students, and 4-6 industrial doctoral students.
