Praise for collaboration industry - academia

David Sundstrom, Business Development Director in Piteå, was rewarded by Luleå University of Technology for being the municipality in Norrbotten who managed to get most collaborations between companies and academia in 2016.

–This was  great fun. Our aim is to show entrepreneurs that we have a university that can be helpful to companies and nowadays we present this as a product to businesses. Previously, we had direct cooperations with different Chaired Professors. Now we can refer businesses directly to LTU Business AB, that manages this. For the next year we will be even better at doing this. Then we'll quintuple the number of established partnerships in Piteå, between Luleå University of Technology and companies, said David Sundström.

It was, when Business Development Directors from municipality and business developers from LTU Business, in order to discuss increased collaboration opportunities, as the prize was rewarded. In connection with this, was awarded a prize to the municipality succeeded in realizing the most such colaborations during 2016. The aim of the collaboration is to increase the University´s cooperation with the small and medium enterprises in the region.
