Lulepexet offers vampire performance

Published: 23 April 2018

Blood thrilling excitement, love, friendship and a big dose of humor. These were the keywords when Lulespexet held their first performance of Vlad III Dracula this Saturday in Aula Aurora.

– It feels great to do a show with vampire theme. In the last few years there have been many movies and TV shows with that theme, says Amanda Sällberg, Co-operation & Marketing Manager of Lulespexet.

The name of the show is Vlad III Dracula and not Dracula because their performances are always based on historical events. Vlad III Dracula was a tyrannical ruler in the 14th century Valakia, present Romania. This year's performance is based on the legend written by the author Bram Stoker in the late 1800's. Amanda Sällberg says that it was extra interesting to write about Vlad III Dracula as there are several legends about him.

– It leaves room for us to joke and write an entertaining script with more freedom. Dracula is also a character that the audience will recognize, she says.

Every year, Lulepexet engages 65 students who create exciting and humorous musical theater production. They write the script, arrange songs, build decor, sew costumes and much more. The show is popular and is seen by approximately 2000 people each year.

– We have very much fun together and we become a tight team that together create the big production, concludes Amanda Sällberg.
