Each year, the Nordic Road Forum's Swedish department awards an educational prize for efforts within one or more of its business areas.
"A great honor", says Peter Collin, professor of building design at Luleå University of Technology and bridge designer at Ramboll (Since 1992).
The nomination states that Peter Collin has long been passionate about the topic of bridge construction and for over 25 years has worked as a bridge designer in everything from smaller footbridges to the Öresund Bridge. During his time as a bridge engineer, Peter has had a close connection with the research and since 2007 has also been a professor of structural engineering. The combination of professional bridge engineer and teaching researcher is something that has benefited many of the students he has taught over the years.
The prize of SEK 50,000 is presented by NVF's Swedish department, at its annual meeting in Stockholm on March 3 at 14.00. Nordic Road Forum NVF will promote the development in the road, road traffic and road transport area through cooperation between professionals in Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. A crucial part of this endeavor is to disseminate knowledge about the different parts and application perspectives of the road transport system. Educational activities in various undergraduate and continuing education courses therefore play a decisive role for progress, increased understanding and commitment to the field.
