Through this course you will learn the basics of IT security. You will learn to understand security threats and learn to design and implement security solutions

About the course:

The language of instruction in the course is according to agreement.

The teaching consists of lectures, laboratory work and assignments. The laboratories are presented orally and can be provided with the last day for submission.

Course content:

  • Introduction to safety
  • Introduction to cryptography
  • Authentication, access control and security models
  • Burglary detection, firewalls
  • Malware: virus / worm / trojan
  • Web attacks
  • Digital Signatures Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Trusted Third Party (TTP)
  • Message authentication
  • Network Authentication (Kerberos)
  • Email security
  • VPN technology (IPSec)
  • WWW security

At the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Understand security threats, mechanisms, protocols and services in computers and computer networks.
  • Analyze and evaluate the security features of network applications.
  • Design and implement programs that provide or use security services in computer networks.
