Operations and maintenance technology

Published: 29 May 2021

Efficient and effective maintenance is a prerequisite for a competitive industry that produces sustainable results.

About the course

Maintenance is important for sustainable development and long-term profitability, by extending the life of systems and infrastructure. This course gives you knowledge in, among other things, maintenance strategy, life cycle cost analysis and condition-based maintenance.

Arrangement

The training package consists of four separate courses.

  • Introduction to maintenance technology
  • Maintenance strategy: The process of formulating maintenance strategy and maintenance goals and selection of maintenance measures
  • Life cycle cost analysis: Analysis of life cycle costs and application of LCC for simulations of a system's operational reliability
  • Condition-based maintenance: Introduction to condition-based maintenance with a laboratory step that illustrates the entire chain from sensor to maintenance decision

The teaching takes place in the form of lessons and laboratory work. Each course ends with an examination. Participants receive higher education credits for each completed course.

Teacher

Several experts from the Department of Operations and Maintenance Engineering at Luleå University of Technology are your teacher resource for this course. The group is a well-established and internationally recognized research group in the field.
