This course is about chatbots. A chatbot is a software program which you can talk to via messaging apps, chat window, or voice. The bot replies using the same applications creating an end-to-end conversation. Recently, chatbots have emerged as one of the hottest technologies in the ICT industry due to the need to work remotely yet be available 24x7. Chatbots have achieved success in many business areas such as customer service, owing to the promise of bots to always be available to address customer requests cheaply, quickly, and consistently. Bots are also used as: product advisor, virtual assistant, conversational help provider, clinical services provider, in addition to using them to talk to your car, mobile and other devices.

- Build the essential ingredients of a chatbot agent
- Integrate the agent with essential technologies
- Design and implement chatbots using Google DialogFlow platform

Design
The course is designed based on bring your own device (BYOD) mechanism. That is, participants use their laptop or desktop to remotely attend online lectures and actively participate in mostly hands-on oriented lectures. It is also assumed that participants have internet connectivity, a Gmail personal account (not a corporate account). It is recommended that participants of the course have, or have created, a Facebook page which they act as administrator. During the course, participants will learn how to design a chatbot agent to act as front line support to that page and answer page visitors. Nevertheless, it is also possible to create the page during the course.
