The client/company can get help with highly qualified problem solving in fire engineering issues. At the start of the degree project, the students have recently read all relevant courses for fire engineers and have learned to work in project form, individually or in collaboration with colleagues.
The overall goal of the course is for the student to practice, develop and demonstrate skills in applying theory and method to solve unstructured problems with relevance for a professional activity as a fire engineer.
The content of the thesis is designed in dialogue with the supervisor. The degree project always contains a theoretical structure in the form of a literature study that highlights the technical area and methodology, summarized in a scientific way.
The student carries out and plans the degree project independently with a supervisor as support. The degree work includes making a timetable for the entire project which is continuously followed up.
What result can we as a company expect?
The client/company can get help with highly qualified problem solving in fire engineering issues. The main deliverable from the degree project is a report that is published on LTU website.
What is required of you as a company?
- A problem statement (in Swedish or English).
- Wished result
- A contact person. The contact person at the company needs to be familiar with the problem and genuinely interested in the assignment.
- Attend meetings when needed. The number of meetings varies, roughly count with 3-4 meetings and preferably a visit for the students to the workplace.
