Diabetes is one of the great diseases of our time. The purpose of this web-based course is to give you in-depth knowledge in order to be able to apply individual care and treatment strategies, in the present and in the future, based on evidence and current research.
Knowledge that can help to develop the entire organization and give you support to be able to make good decisions in the daily work of people with diabetes. Something that can significantly contribute to reducing the risk of complications.

LTU uses the Canvas platform, lectures are provided with the Zoom tool. The lectures are recorded and are available throughout the course. Examination takes place via a web-based seminar and e-exam. Computer with internal connection is required to complete the course.
The education is aimed at those who are nurses or have comparable health education and work with people who have diabetes in county councils, municipalities or private healthcare providers. In the areas of psychiatry and elderly care, we also turn to people who are not qualified to study at universities. These receive a certificate of their participation.
Lecturer and educator
Educators will be teachers from the Department of Health Sciences at Luleå University of Technology and specialists from diabetes care.
The minimum number of participants for the course to be completed is 15 people.
