One of Sweden's first test beds for 5G is under development Luleå University of Technology. Welcome to a lecture at The Great Northern in Skellefteå at 12.00-13.00 on March 19, to hear more about the opportunities for companies and organizations in using the 5G test environment; the ongoing research in the field, and the Wireless Innovation Arena project.

Together with Ericsson, Telia and Tieto, Luleå University of Technology is building an open test environment for 5G that will be used by companies, organizations and researchers. One of the aims of the project, called the Wireless Innovation Arena, is to establish a research and innovation environment within 5G where companies, students and organizations can together test new ideas and applications.

5G provides improvements for higher data rates, shorter delays and higher reliability. At first, 5G is expected to mainly satisfy the industry's needs, but in the long term the technology will also enable individual consumers to get faster connection and improve coverage in sparsely populated areas.

On a lecture at The Great Northern in Skellefteå on March 19 at 12-13, Luleå University of Technology's researcher Karl Andersson and Skellefteå municipality's CIO Michael Carlberg Lax will talk about how 5G can be used to create new innovations in the private and public sector.
