Nanomaterials for advanced solar cells - the present and the future
The present market of solar panels is dominated by silicon solar cells. Aside to silicon, the research pushed the development of solar cells based on other materials, with the aim of reducing the production costs through application of cheaper materials and production methods. Alberto Vomiero, professor in Experimental physics at Luleå university of Technology, will in this talk discuss new research on solar cells and solar fuels, based on advanced nanomaterials. The aim is to improve the efficiency of the solar cells of tomorrow and to reduce their environmental impact.
