Personal information in Google Drive at LTU to personal Google Drive

A guide for those who want to keep personal information in Google's environment by moving it to a personal Google account.

  1. Open, click Open Drive. Enter as email address, click Next .
  2. If you are not logged in automatically, log in with your LTU user.
  3. Select all your work-related information in Drive, right-click and then select Download.
  4. Once the files have been compressed into a downloadable ZIP file, select Save as at the bottom of the screen and save the ZIP file on your desktop.
  5. Right-click on the ZIP file and select Extract All then Extract. A new window will open with the files.
  6. (If you already have a personal/other Google Account, you can skip this step.)Open, click Sign in at the top right, and then Create Account. Create a new account according to the instructions.
  7. Log in to your personal Gmail account, click the Google Apps icon in the upper right corner, then select Drive .
  8. Open the window with the files you extracted in Windows Explorer, select all and drag into your Google Drive in the browser.
  9. When you are done with the above. Select all the files in your Google Drive at LTU that you have now moved and delete them. If you do not erase the information from Google Drive, you will receive an automatic copy of your information.
