E-mail scams

If you have received an e-mail which you believe is an attempt at fraud, you can report the problem by sending an email to the IT with the suspicious message attached. By doing so, you will help in preventing hacking and identity theft.


  1. You have received a suspicious fraud attempt.


Forward an email as an attachment in Outlook 2010, 2013 or 2016.

  1. Select the message you want to report, but do not open it.
  2. Then click More in the category Respond on the Home tab of the ribbon at the top of Outlook.
  3. Choose Forward as Attachment.
  4. Enter the email address irt@ltu.se as receiver of the email.
  5. Click Submit. Now create a case to the IT Servicedesk.
