Skype for Business

On Linux there is no official Skype for Business client. As a workaround you can use Pidgin (not supported)

 

Requirements

  1. Ubuntu 4.14
  2. pidgin-sipe version 1.20 or higher is required.

 

 

Instruction

  1. Install pidgin if it is not already installed:
    > Apt-get install pidgin
    See the link below for download.
  2. Start pidgin.
    > Pidgin &
  3. Select Add
    Protocol: "Office Communicator"
    User Name: <first name>. <Last name> @ ltu.se
    Login: <username> @ ltuad.ltu.se

    advanced:
    Connection type: Auto
    User Agent: UCCAPI / 15.0.4420.1017 OC / 15.0.4420.1017
    Authentication Scheme: TLS-DSK

    proxy:
    Proxy Type: No Proxy
  4. Add buddies: buddies-> add buddy
    Buddy's username: <first name>. <Last name> @ ltu.se
