Teaching session in academic writing

Published: 12 November 2018

Academic writing is an important part of students’ education and students need to develop their capability to write and formulate themselves academically. The University Library supports teachers in this element and offers workshop and canvas-module in academic writing to year 1 students on campus or distance students.

The University Library’s teaching in academic writing is based on that the students should prepare themselves before the teaching session by studying the library’s material, so called flipped classroom. Then the students work actively in groups with exercises during the workshop.

The content of the workshop is co-planned with the course teacher based on a current written course assignment, the phases of the writing process and the students' needs.
The course teacher should attend the session.

The library’s educational developers, who are qualified language teachers, are in charge of the teaching.
