Teaching session in information literacy

Published: 12 November 2018

Knowledge of searching, evaluating and using sources of information is important to students and should be part of their education. The University Library has a mission to support teachers in these elements. We do that by offering workshops, tutorials and canvas-modules in information literacy to students on campus or distance students.

The University Library’s teaching is based on that the students should prepare themselves before the teaching sessions by studying the library’s material, so called flipped classroom. Then the students work actively in groups with exercises during the sessions. Therefore, we only give workshops and tutorials, no lectures.

Teaching librarians and the library’s educational developers are in charge of the teaching. Many of us are qualified language teachers.
