New advisor to the Vice-Chancellor

Robert Brännström has been appointed to the Vice-Chancellor's advisor in Skellefteå for Luleå University of Technology.

Luleå University of Technology has a wide range of education and research in Skellefteå.

– Because of this, we need someone who is a unifying force and who also can represent Luleå University of Technology in Skellefteå and in the county, says Vice-Chancellor John Sterte, who has appointed Robert Brännström to be the new advisor in Skellefteå.

Robert Brännström is a senior lecturer and an an assistant professor in the field of Pervasive and Mobile Computing (PMC) research group and Head of the Division of Computer Science at the Luleå University of Technology's department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Engineering.

A positive dialogue

He is glad to also take on the task as the Vice-Chancellor's advisor in Skellefteå.

– With this appointment I get a clearer platform to act for the whole Luleå University of Technology in Skellefteå, says Robert Brännström.

He says that Luleå University of Technology and the municipality of Skellefteå have a positive dialogue about developing the education and research in Skellefteå, as well as other collaborations and entrepreneurships.

Kristina Sundin Jonsson, Municipal Director in Skellefteå, welcomes the appointment of Robert Brännström as new advisor of the Vice-Chancellor.

– Skellefteå has for many years had a close and good cooperation with Luleå University of Technology, and we are delighted that Robert Brännström now been appointed to the Vice-Chancellor's advisor. This ensures that our cooperation continues to develop for our common good, she says.
Kristina Sundin Jonsson adds:

– Gunnar Landsell, who previously held the role as the Vice-Chancellor's advisor, has meant a lot for the cooperation between the municipality and the university.
