New manager see new opportunities
John Lindström is the new Operations Manager at the Centre for Critical Infrastructure and Societal Security, CISS. – Our vision is to become one of Europe's leading information security centers, says John Lindström.
John Lindström has already started to create a powerful financing base for the center as well as building up the the relevant infrastructure needed. The idea is also that research groups that address cyber and information security should expand in areas where there are interesting problems and risks in industry, critical infrastructure and public activities.
High availability in various activities is a prerequisite for our society to function, for example in the production and distribution of electricity and energy, road and rail transport, food and water production and distribution, telecommunications and healthcare.
– You can find critical infrastructure everywhere in our society. Cyber security is always necessary, but especially if the infrastructure is connected to external networks and the Internet, says John Lindström.
Broad collaboration
CISS's activities will consist of several areas; general cyber security, critical infrastructure security, site security, education in the form of programs and courses, and the building of a national security center for hard and software testing.
– We will work together with industrial partners, security companies, Swedish and foreign universities as well as public authorities, says John Lindström.
