I have worked with gold ore deposits for over 15 years, with a focus on both mineral exploration and mineral processing of the ores. In my research, I specialize in the way gold ore textures and mineralogy relates to the formation and deformation of orogenic gold deposits. Using microanalytical techniques, such as optical- and scanning electron microscopy (SEM-EDS/WDS), electron microprobe (EPMA) and Laser Ablation ICP MS, we try to establish mineral exploration tools in the form of mineral-chemical vectors toward ore. In addition, establishing the textural relationships between gold and other minerals in the ore is vital for the optimization of the mineral processing of gold ores, enabling an improved metal recovery, and thereby better utilization of the ore deposits.
