Nordea Scientific Prize 2020 to Vinit Parida

The 2020 Scientific Prize from Nordea's Norrland Foundation is awarded to Vinit Parida, Chaired Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Luleå University of Technology

− I am really grateful to Nordeas Norrlandsstiftelse for honoring me with this award. My research is largely the result of productive collaboration with a talented researchers from Entrepreneurship and Innovation team at Luleå University of Technology and other international researchers. The award tells me to continue pursing my passion of conducting industry-oriented research work, Vinit Parida says.

The Prize is awarded to prominet researchers
The Nordea Scientific Prize was established in 2006 by Nordea's Norrland Foundation and is awarded to prominent researchers at Luleå University of Technology, whose research results contribute to growth and development. The researcher must be a excellent  representative of the university. The prize money is SEK 100,000.

The motivation for this year's winner Vinit Parida is:
Professor Vinit Parida is Head of Subject for the Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Department of Business Administration, Technology and Social Sciences. His research areas include digitalization, business models and industrial ecosystems for the circular economy and sustainable industry, where all areas in some way relate to or have a direct connection to Nordea's activities.

The research group led by Vinit Parida is experiencing strong growth. He teaches, supervises PhD students and often engages students in ongoing research projects and in contacts with companies and organizations. Professor Parida is one of the driving forces in the department's long-term investment in establishing the Graduate School of Industrial Management, where the majority of PhD students in the field are linked to a larger doctoral education environment.

Professor Parida has a high impact scientific output, which led to him being ranked in 24th position by the journal FOKUS, which published the listed of 100 most productive and cited researchers in Sweden in the category of Social Sciences, and he has a strong national and international position in entrepreneurship and innovation research.

Vinit Parida's research expertise is well recognized and he has established close collaboration with a large number of national and international companies and organizations. As a research leader, he has been a driving force in the construction of Norrlandsnavet, a Kamprad family foundation knowledge center at Luleå University of Technology with the aim of strengthening small companies' business development and innovation in Norrland.
