Every year in connection with Akademisk högtid, Luleå University of Technology, like to draw attention to people who in various ways during the past year have promoted knowledge development, pedagogy and education.

–Yesterday we started our academic week, a week where we proudly present our new professors and where we hand out awards to people who in various ways have contributed to the development of the university and our region. Most activities are usually held here in Vetenskaps hus to make it easy for interested citizens to participate and share these days with us, Birgitta Bergvall-Kåreborn said.

Then she told that  the university because of covid-19 will webcast large part of the academic week, so that anyone who wants can take part in highly interesting lectures with our new professors who tell about their research and the societal benefits it creates regionally, nationally and internationallys.

–This also enables the university to highlight the meritorious achievements and important efforts of our teachers, students and collaboration partners.I therefore hope that many people have connected to participate in today's award ceremony where we hand out deserving awards to employees and students for their contribution to the development of the university and society, Birgitta Bergvall-Kåreborn, said.
