The job fair will take place on Space Campus in Kiruna and space students from both Luleå and Kiruna will attend. Space related companies such as the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC), the Swedish Institute for Space Physics (IRF), the European Space Agency (ESA) and OHB Sweden will be there. There will be technical talks and one-on-one interactions between students and company representatives.
– We want to introduce a platform for both students and to companies that will enable effective networking, communication and socializing. There are opportunities available to students in various industries, we want to help the students to be industry-ready by the time they graduate, says Roger M. Pereira.
Except from having students and companies meet, the job fair aims at inspiring students.
– We hope that they will gain a sense of direction on their respective career paths and be enlightened as to the opportunities available in the space industry.
Many students have been involved in the preparation of LiftOff and have spent many hours working on the job fair. They have put in a lot of work, but according to Roger M. Pereira, it has been worth it.
– Working with LiftOff has been an excellent opportunity to practice our teamwork, communication and organizational skills. It has been extremely satisfying, because the primary focus of the project is to improve the prospects for as many students as possible.
As previous years, all students at the Master programme in Space Engineering at Luleå campus will go to Kiruna for LiftOff. Already in Kiruna are of course more students from that programme, and students studying the Master Programme in Space Science and Technology (SpaceMaster) and the Master Programme in Spacecraft Design.
